Ty Schommer joined Arbor Capital Management, Inc. in 2013. Mr. Schommer has 25 years of securities and industry experience. Ty had active management duties and received extensive capital markets training in his time at Morgan Stanley. He had access and exposure to all facets of the firm from initial public offerings, to hedging and risk management techniques. Additionally, Ty has extensive experience with asset allocation and portfolio management concepts and techniques.
Michele Kitta
Director – Business Analytics & Data Technologies
Michele Kitta rejoined Arbor in 2019. Before coming back to Arbor, she spent a few years working as a Project Business Analyst and Project Manager in the insurance and risk management industry. She obtained her Master’s of Business Administration from Concordia University – Wisconsin in 2013 and is currently working her way through a Master’s of Computer Science from University of Illinois. Having previously lived in St. Louis, Metro Detroit, and Anchorage, she now calls the Springfield, MO area home. When she’s not traveling the country, she enjoys hiking in the Mark Twain National Forest, scuba diving and flying.
Kirby Houchin, CFP®

Kirby Houchin joined Arbor Capital Management, Inc. in 2015. Before joining ACM, he spent 5 years working in the insurance and risk management industry in Kenai. During this time, Kirby worked with numerous businesses and organizations throughout the Peninsula and State of Alaska. Kirby is a North Dakota native who graduated from the University of Jamestown with a B.A., double majoring in Financial Planning & Wealth Management and Accounting, with a minor in Business Administration. While in Kenai, he served as the commissioner for the Kenai Softball Association and also serves on the state Amateur Softball Association classification committee. Kirby and his family enjoy Alaska’s world-class fishing and outdoor activities.
Heather Dodson
Heather Dodson joined Arbor Capital Management in 2019. Born and raised in Fairbanks, Heather graduated from Monroe High School in 1995 and is a 2000 graduate of the University of Cincinnati. She established herself as a successful commercial property manager in Washington, D.C., and declined a significant promotion opportunity in commercial real estate in Louisville, KY, choosing instead to return to her roots and family in Fairbanks and work with her father, joining Denali Capital in 2003. In addition to her career success and raising two daughters with her husband of 8 years, Heather is involved in the Fairbanks community and currently serves as President of the Fairbanks Montessori School Board.
Matt Kolesky
Partner + Financial Advisor
Matthew was born and raised in Alaska and has recently moved to Houston, Texas after spending 6 years in the UK. He regularly travels back to Alaska for work, family and an occasional trip to Alyeska. He enjoys coaching and writing about soccer and volunteers his time with CampFire Alaska. While he still calls Alaska home, he enjoys exploring the globe with his family. Prior to joining Arbor in 2004, Mr. Kolesky worked at the Anchorage office of Charles Schwab and Co., Inc. During his four-year tenure, Mr. Kolesky passed the General Securities Exam and piloted a private client program.
Matthew Schechter
FINANCIAL Advisor
Matt joined Arbor Capital in 2019. Before joining ACM, Matt focused for 15 years on forensic accounting research at Balyasny Asset Management and CFRA Research in Chicago, IL. Matt is from Freeport, NY and moved to Chicago after graduating from the University of Michigan with a BBA and concentration in accounting. He also has an MBA in finance from the University of Chicago. Outside of work, Matt serves on a committee for the U.S. Financial Accounting Standards Board in Norwalk, CT and the board of Friends of Northside College Preparatory High School in Chicago. He and his wife first visited Alaska in 1997 and have had a home here since 2008 because they loved spending time here.
JOSHUA CHURCH
Joshua Church joined Arbor Capital Management in 2020. Prior to joining Arbor Capital Joshua served in the Marines for nine years on four continents with Marine Reconnaissance and Marine Special Operations. Joshua was responsible for planning, purchasing, transportation, and accountability of all assets and funds to deploy his team of Special Operators for up to six months, as the only US military presence in that country. Joshua’s experience with risk mitigation in uncertain environments will help him to navigate client’s investments in uncertain times. In 2016 Joshua felt it was time to return home to Fairbanks, Alaska to raise his family and start a new chapter of his life. Joshua started his own construction company, continued investing in local real estate while earning his bachelor’s degree at UAF. These experiences emphasized Joshua’s passion for finding value in investments and sparked his desire to pursue a career focused more exclusively in investing. Joshua believes in the need for a team of dedicated professionals to achieve success, while profitably running his own company Joshua missed having a team of competent professionals to partner with. With Arbor, Joshua has found a team to partner with where his passion to help people achieve financial freedom and peace of mind can blossom. When not working on financial investments Joshua spends his time raising his daughter, hunting, fishing, volunteering for various charities and organizations including serving on the ACAST board at the appointment of the governor.
